Donna Maree Hanson

Donna Maree Hanson lives in Canberra with a lovely view of the mountains. She completed a Masters in Creative Writing at the University of Canberra in 2014 and is currently a PhD candidate researching feminism in popular romance fiction. She has been writing speculative fiction for over fifteen years, with short stories in: Redsine Magazine, AntiSF, the CSFG anthologies, Machinations, Elsewhere and Masques. In 2010, she had stories in Belong and Scary Kisses, both by Ticonderoga publications and two other stories, ‘Liquid Night in Novus Creatura published by Aurore Wolf and ‘Warning Buoy’ put out by Static Movement. In 2011, her stories appeared in Dead Red Heart edited by Russell B Farr, Ticonderga and More Scary Kisses edited by Liz Grzyb.
Donna has also edited an anthology, two single author collections and managed a small press as well as running a couple of science fiction conventions. Her Love and Space Pirates series comprises Rayessa and the Space Pirates, a young adult romantic space opera and the sequel, Rae and Essa Space Adventures, published by Escape Publishing.
Her adult dark fantasy series commences with, Dragon Wine Book 1:Shatterwing and Dragon Wine Book 2: Skywatcher (Momentum Books, 2014).
Donna has recently released Argenterra, an epic fantasy with romantic themes suitable for young adults and adults.
